Spending time with those I love...

Being a pastor, husband, father, and son gives me plenty to do.  If I'm not careful I can always find myself constantly on the go doing this, that or the other.  I can complete every item on my to do list and still leave something undone at the end of the day.  I have to be intentional, therefore, about spending time with those I love.  In order to prevent large amounts of time from passing without me having spent at least a few moments with my wife and kids, I find that I have to schedule time as well as spontaneously come aside and spend time with them.  When I do so, however, I'm never disappointed.  For every moment I spend with those I love, I am rewarded with affection and memories that last a lifetime.

Let's face it, we're all busy people. It's because there is so much going on in the world around us as well as in our lives that we have to be intentional about spending time with the one we love...God.  If we're not careful, we go through an entire day and not take any time for worship, prayer, Bible study or reflection.  What's even worse is that, like Mary and Joseph leaving Jesus behind at the temple, we can live through our days without God and not even know what we're missing.

Let us make sure that we never let a day pass without spending time with those we love.  Make time for family and friends and most of all, spend time with the Creator.  Make prayer, Bible study and Christian service a priority every day and I guarantee,  you wont be disappointed.
