Traditionally, the world focuses on love on Valentine's day. Couples give flowers, candy, and cards as they seek to express their affection for each other. With all of the attention on affection, it's hard for some who aren't receiving any flowers, candy or other tokens of love not to feel left out- but they don't have to, not today.
You see, today is not only Valentine's day, it's also the Sabbath, a memorial of creation that shows all of God's children how much He loves them. In a sense, the Sabbath is God's Divine Valentine! Even if you didn't receive a gift or an "I love you" from a special someone today, know that God gave you His Sabbath as a token of His love for you. He loved you enough to create a sanctuary in time that is to be spent exclusively with Him. What a wonderful present for us all.
Personally, I enjoy Valentine's day, but I enjoy the Sabbath even more. Both of them remind me of how much I am loved.
